2026-10-10 — Starters gallery

  • Starters gallery: every starter template rendered, with a page each: change the sample variables and render it live, copy the JSON, open it in the editor, and the exact calls to copy it into your account. GET /v1/starters has always returned the data; now you can see it.

2026-10-10 — Chart layers

  • Chart layer (type: "chart"): bar, line, area, pie and donut charts drawn as SVG inside the worker, no chart library and no network. values and labels are arrays or comma-separated strings, so one {{placeholder}} can carry a whole series. Options for colours, grid, value labels, units, smoothing, axis bounds and donut thickness.
  • Weekly report starter (GET /v1/starters/weekly-report): a headline number, a bar chart of the week, a donut split and a trend line, every number a variable.

2026-10-10 — QR layers, collections, starters

  • QR layer (type: "qr"): encode any text or URL, with {{placeholders}}, error-correction level and quiet zone. Drawn in the worker, no network. The event ticket starter uses one.
  • Collections (POST /v1/collections): one template, up to 50 sets of variables and modifications, one request. Every image's id and URL come back at once; renders run five at a time in the background; poll or take a webhook.
  • Starters (GET /v1/starters): seven complete templates to copy: Open Graph card, blog post, product review, square quote, event ticket with QR, A4 certificate for PDFs, video thumbnail.
  • Renders are placed in the edge cache the moment they are written, so the fetch that follows a render never races storage.

2026-10-10 — Launch

  • Images from JSON layer templates (text, image, rect, bar, rating layers), inline templates or raw HTML, with {{placeholders}}, per-layer modifications, 1x to 3x, PNG, JPEG and WebP.
  • Open Graph cards from a title and a few options, no template.
  • PDFs from templates, HTML or public URLs, one unit per page.
  • Screenshots of public pages: viewport, full page, one element, dark mode, selectors to hide.
  • Signed URLs on img.imageapis.com, cached at the edge, charged to the key that made the base.
  • Webhooks for background renders, and the MCP server at mcp.imageapis.com.
  • 80 curated Google Fonts with their real weight axes; any other family loads by name.
